Grand Traverse Lighthouse, built in 1858, is a lighthouse located at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula in the US state of Michigan. With beautiful view of Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay, it is a hot tourism spot attracting thousands of tourists in summer.
This route starts from the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and rides on M-22 along Grand Traverse Bay. M-22, officially Michigan Highway 22, is a 116.7 miles (187.8 km) long scenic route following the Lake Michigan shoreline and a part of the Lake Michigan Circle Tour.
The route passes beautiful coastal town of Northport and Suttons Bay and stops just outside of Travers City, a metropolitan area with a population over 150 thousand. The route is around 35.2 miles (56.6 km), mostly flat with some low-grade climbs, so definitely a pleasant ride.
