This is part of the route from Flam to Geiranger, one of the most famous tourist town in Norway located at the end of the beautiful Geirangerfjord. The route starts from Gaupne on Rv5 not far from the exit of tunnel after Fodnes Ferry and ends at Skjolden.
Skjolden is a small beautiful village located in Vestland county, Norway. It is at the end of the Lustrafjorden, a branch of the Sognefjorden, the longest fjord in Norway. The village is pretty much in the middle of the route from Flam to Geiranger if the route follows Rv5 and then Fv55 at Sogndalsfjøra.
Beyond its own stunning view of Lustrafjorden, the spectacular Åsafossen Waterfall is around 3 km/1.85 mile away from Skjolden.
This route is around 61.5 km/ 38 mile with many uphill and downhills but overall it is not a very hard route. Though some rides are in the rain but it is indeed a beautiful route!
