Mission Point Lighthouse, built in 1870, is located at the tip of the Old Mission Point, a peninsula protruding into the Grand Traverse Bay that is part of Lake Michigan. Around 20 miles from Traverse City, Michigan, the light house has beautiful views of Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay and thus a hot tourism spot attracting thousands of tourists in summer.
This route starts from the Mission Point Lighthouse and rides on M-37 toward south. The route enters the Traverse City through the Peninsula Drive and then rides on the Front Street with beautiful shoreline on the right. It then makes a left turn onto the N Division Street and followed by a right turn onto the W Eleventh Street and arrives the destination in a couple of minutes.
This is a beautiful route in Michigan passing beautiful lake shorelines, farms and the city. The route is around 21.2 miles (34 km), mostly flat with some low-grade climbs, so definitely a pleasant ride.
