The Stegastein Lookout is a main attraction of Flam, Norway, it is around sits 17.3 km/10.75 mile from Flam and 650 meter/2132 feet above Aurlandsfjord. The lkookout has a man-made observing structure sticking out to give people a better view of the beautiful Aurlandsfjord.
Lærdalsøyri is a small village is at the mouth of the Lærdalselvi river to the Lærdalsfjorden (Lærdals Fjord), a branch off of the main Sognefjorden (Sogne Fjord). With a population between 1100 and 1200, Lærdalsøyri is quite and beautiful.
The riding distance from Stegastein Lookout to Lærdalsøyri is around 39.7 km/ 24.7 mile, it ends at the eastern entrance of the Lærdal Tunnel which is part of the European route E16 highway. The route is a typical Allerbi mountain route with many uphills and downhills, so it is a quite challenge route but with beautiful and unique views! The ride starts with good weather but then rides in rains in the middle.
